About

Jamie Marley

I am Jamie Marley, I’ve worked in the marine industry all my career, specifically working with vessel electrical systems. Some 10 years ago I diverged into electric propulsion and really never turned back since. It was then that I realised and became aware of this new technology, which now disrupts and enables maritime to decarbonise.

To follow my ambition, I accepted employment for Torqeedo gmbh (2015) and moved my life and family to Germany to allow me to work as a Senior Field Service Engineer, responsible for project managing and commissioning their high voltage propulsion systems, around the globe.

Net zero Marine

Having completed some 90+ projects I realised and believed I had a bigger part to play in this worldwide decarbonisation transition. This lead me to leave Torqeedo after 4 years and establishing Marine Electrification Solutions Ltd. I knew if I was to build a consultancy that placed myself in the middle of the e-mobility marine industry, as an impartial and independent consultant, I’d have maximum leverage to influence and enable a faster transition, via knowledge sharing, collaboration, and support.

This is where I’ve been for the past 4 years, typically working with British marine businesses and organisations. I work hard to keep up to date and in touch with propulsion system manufacturers and vessel builders to ensure my knowledge is abreast of this fast moving technology. For me this means, attending trade shows, meetings and networking events to meet, talk and learn. As well as collaborate and share knowledge. I am very much of the belief that ‘what goes around comes around’, as the marine industry is a close net group and persons never forget the help I might give.

My main business aim is to work hard, to elevate myself to a position that my skills and energy can be best placed to accelerate the e-mobility transition, adding to decarbonisation of marine vessels propulsion.

Philosophy

My mission is to promote safe, environmentally sound, efficient and sustainable zero emission propulsion systems through cooperation.

This will be accomplished by adopting the highest practicable standards of maritime safety and security, efficiency of navigation, as well as through consideration of the related legal matters and effective implementation of various solutions, with a view to their universal and uniform application.

E-cat Project - Ohms law

Follow our first test boat “Rib volt lution”, I wanted to test myself, by deep diving into the complete system creation, from propeller to charge inlet. I needed better efficiency through the water as well as the opportunity to add redundancy. The E-Cat project was born in December 2020. The aim of the project is to provide me with a vessel that I can test and develop my own expertise.
